Happy Birthday Justin!

Happy 26th Birthday to the most amazing, sweet, & loving husband/daddy in the world!

Kynadi & Kade are so blessed to have you to call daddy. Every child has a father, but it takes a special person to be a daddy, and that is what our kiddos have; a daddy who loves them and cares about them more than anything in this world; true unconditional love. It brings smiles to my heart to see you playing with Kade, and brings tears to my eyes to think of all the wonderful daddy & daughter times you and Kynadi shared.
Not only are they blessed to have you as their daddy, but I'm blessed to call you not only my husband, father of my children, but my absolute best friend. I thank God every day for blessing me with you. Not many people can work along their spouse every day, but I couldn't begin to imagine us not working together. I surely couldn't have made it through this past year without you by my side. I love you Justin and hope you have many more Happy Birthdays in the years to come!

Urgent Prayer Request

Ok Friends, I need your help with an urgent prayer request. My best friend and mother of my God-daughter sent me this text message earlier….

"Can't talk…frantically packing our photos & keepsakes. Rotan (25 miles) has been evacuated from wildfire. Winds are not dying. There fire department is headed to Hamlin…it's too dangerous to fight there. They expect it to hit Hamlin in five hours. We live on the highway it's coming from. Please please pray. I've never been so scared in my life." – Beth

I ask that you please pray for this family. They live 40 miles north/northwest of Abilene in West, Texas. There have already been so many homes and so much land lost to these wildfires.

Beth has been my best friend since we met as freshman at Tarleton, & her two little kiddos are some of the sweetest and loving in the world. We've been through so much together, and she is one of those people that when you meet you know you'll be true best friends for life. She has been there for Justin & I through everything with Kynadi, and as bad as that was I couldn't imagine what they are going through right now being told that a wildfire is headed your way and you could possibly lose everything you have!

I pray to God up above to keep my friend and her family safe. To calm the winds so that not only their home, but those around them will be saved from the raging wildfires. To be with all of the firefighters and safety personnel as they fight unselfishly to save their own families as well as others around them.

We all know the power of prayer and the awesomeness of the God we serve!

UPDATE: Just as I hit publish, I received another message. The fire barriers that were set up in Rotan are working, and the winds have changed direction. Beth & her family are waiting it out tonight, but will leave town to be with her family in Fredericksburg tomorrow morning. However, the conditions can change at any moment with the winds. Continue to Pray....it is a powerful thing!

Happy 1 Month Kade!

It's hard to believe that our bouncing baby boy is already 1 month old (actually 1 ½ now since I'm behind on blogging)! He has changed in so many ways and is growing every day.

We had to make a visit to the doctor at 4wks old fo ran umbilical cord issue, so of course he was weighed while we were there. He went from weighing 9lbs 1oz at two weeks old to a whopping 10lbs 8oz at 4wks.

I'd have to say we have a growing boy on our hands who is going to stay big!
Kade's 1 Month Stats:
Weight: 10lbs 8oz (4wks)
Sleep Patterns: 4hrs during night
Small naps during the day!
Eating Habits: 4oz every 4hrs at night; 4oz every 2-3hrs during the day
(we are adding baby cereal to night & 1st morning feeding very soon)
Clothing/Diaper Size: Making the move from Newborn to 0-3 in clothes
Size 1 Diapers
Milestones:
  • Has discovered the "noise makers" on his play mat
  • Holds his head up for short periods of time
  • Rolls to his side from back, but can't quite make it over his arms & legs
Favorites:
  • Very much a Mommy's boy
  • Loves to sleep on his stomach on your chest
  • Loves to suck on the skin between thumb & forefinger
  • Loves Bath time
  • Loves to be held
  • Loves his swing
  • Dislikes the bouncer

July 2010 – Saying Goodbye…..

As you all know, July 2010 also brought saying Goodbye. I can't even think to type this for the tears rolling down my face, but I want to post it so that I have it for us. We had to say goodbye to our sweet, loveable, kissable, mischievous, little red headed blue eyed one year old baby doll. It was by far the hardest thing Justin & I have EVER had to do and now even 8 months later we cry for her daily. I don't see how any parent can take their child for granted because as we have learned you never know when they will be gone. We know our little Kynadi was a very very loved little girl and we found out just the number of friends and family we have to support us on this road. Kynadi's memorial service was absolutely beautiful. Rev. Mel and Rev. Ann did a wonderful job. I don't think the funeral home could have held another person during visitation or for the service. We couldn't have asked for any more. The sermon, the flowers, and the outpouring of love from everyone who came, called, emailed, or made contact with us in any way was very greatly appreciated. It's just when you're ready to give up and throw in the towels that God provides. Each passing day is still hard on Justin & I, and personally I don't' think it will ever get any easier. It's something no parent should ever have to do, but we learn to live with it and continue to live our lives around it.

So to our baby girl – Mommy & Daddy miss you beyond measure. Our lives will never be the same without you, but you will NEVER EVER be forgotten. We think about you and cry for you daily remembering all of the funny little things you did. You gave us the best year of our lives!

We love you, we love you Morning, Noon, & Night. We love you, we love you….YOU MAKE OUR WORLD SO BRIGHT!

July 2010 – Happy 1st Birthday Kynadi Jo’Ann!

July brought Kynadi's very 1st birthday! It was so hard for us to believe that she was one year old. The year went by so fast. Enjoy a few pics to look back on her birthday!

Two Year Catch-Up: Part Three

April 2010
April brought Miss Kynadi's 1st Easter! She loved hunting the eggs & spending the day at the Ft. Worth zoo with Mommy & Daddy after church.

April also brought Kynadi's 2nd NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway! She was much more into watching the cars this time than in November!
