Easter 2013: TXFB Egg Hunt

This past Sunday, we joined MaMaw, my cousin's lil boys & girl, & Melissa & McKenzie for some Easter Egg Hunting at MaMaw's work. This is always a fun time for the kiddos & adults alike (minus the fact that any chocolate candy is usually melted).
Cousins - Daniel, Kade, & Blayne
As soon as we arrived, we met up with the Easter bunny for our annual picture. However, this year mommy had to be included in the picture. Kade still is not over the fact that dressed up characters are not scary. He literally puts the brakes on when he sees someone dressed up. It's not just having to sit on their lap or take a picture with them, he simply doesn't want to be near them at all!

Finally it was time for the egg hunt! All of the little boys were in the same age group again this year, but McKenzie & Braden & Kirsten were on their own! All of the kids had a blast & were more than eager to eat their candy!

Sesame Street Live: Can't Stop Singing!!

This past Friday, Mom & I took Kade to the Extraco Events Center to see Sesame Street Live! It brought back a lot of memories for me as I remember being a kid going to see Sesame Street at the Ferrell Center at Baylor.

Prior to the show, they had a Sesame Street Play Zone for the kids, similar to that at the circus. However, I must say the play zone fo the circus was much more entertaining. The Sesame Street play zone had no characters interacting with the kids; it was simply wooden cutouts of each character for parents to take pictures with.

Once the show started, Kade enjoyed every minute of it (until the last 15minutes when he fell asleep)! He was dancing & hollering for Elmo! It was so good to see him laughing & really "getting into" something. I only hope there will be many more of these type events come to a town near us!
Momma's favorite childhood character - "Oscar the Grouch"

Thank You for going with us MaMaw!

Happy 2nd Birthday Kade

On March 1st, we celebrated Kade's 2nd Birthday! It's so hard to imagine him being two years old. It seems like just yesterday I was bringing home a lil 9lb 4oz baby boy.

We celebrated his actual birthday by heading to the doctor for his 2yr check-up, spending the day with MaMaw & KK, then heading to Golden Corral for dinner! At dinner, Kade enjoyed himself a double chocolate cupcake! Can you tell he thought it was yummy?

The next day, Saturday, we woke up early & headed to the Mayborn Museum to celebrate Kade's big #2 with all of our family & his little friends. With Kade loving Thomas and all things train, it was only natural to have his theme be "Thomas the Train". I think it all turned out perfect, and the kiddos all had a blast just running from room to room playing.
